Project members: Dr. Angela Meyer, Gregor Giersch, Christoph Clar
About: IDC is a non-profit interdisciplinary association based in Vienna, Austria. Its aim is to promote and facilitate the communication and exchange in science and research. The main focus is set on current social and technical transformations, their evolution and social and environmental impacts, in view of preventing and resolving consequential conflicts. In this regard, IDC is active in supporting and encouraging the assessment of these trends, in strengthening international scientific cooperation, and in asserting the perception, acceptance and understanding of innovative and emerging approaches by different stakeholders.
The IDC team is made up of researchers and professionals from different backgrounds organized into four specific working groups. The EU Africa Working Group, that is responsible for the coordination and implementation of SustainergyNet, covers all IDC activities related to Africa and the EU African partnership. Its objective is to promote communication, exchange and cooperation between Europeans and Africans on issues relevant for both continents or of global dimension.
Activities in the project: IDC is responsible for the overall project coordination, the support and management activities and for the documentation of the whole project process. Moreover, IDC will lead the implementation of the "CSO Involvement Net", which is considered to be one of the major outcomes of the project. IDC will also actively contribute to other Work Packages, and notably support the dissemination of information on the project's progress and outcomes.
