About: The Austrian Institute for International Affairs (OIIP) is a non-profit public institution, politically independent and a non-university research center. OIIP focus on globalization, European integration, comprehensive security, and the comparative study of international affairs. It has advised on public policy, political consultancy conducted primary scientific research, supported the international academic exchange, and played a key role in hosting international conferences and as a venue for second track-diplomacy. The institute has six basic areas of activity: - Basic research - Applied research and scientific policy advice - Publications - Events - Promotion of young researchers - Networking - Library Basic Research OIIP conducts basic research into the following subject areas: - The European Union - Comprehensive and Human Security and Conflict Management - Comparative Regional Research (Europe, Middle East, Mediterranean and Turkey, USA - transatlantic relations, Asia, and Africa)

Activities in the project: OIIP's contribution to the implementation of the projects objectives will  focus on two of OIIP's central fields of activities: the analysis of European policy processes and International Development policies. Its main activities will consist in assessing CSO involvement in research and policy agenda setting in the specific case of the European Union. OIIP will build on these findings, as well as on its experiences in the field of international development policies and enrich the process of defining recommendations and best practices on how to improve CSO involvement in Africa.Furthermore, OIIP will organise a regional presentation event in Europe and will assist the dissemination activities.
